Staff BIOS–
Susan Caperton joined the staff in 2023 after serving many years on the Board of Directors, including terms as Secretary and Vice President. In 2024, she became our new Executive Director! Originally from Rockford, IL, she earned a BA with Distinction from Northwestern University with degrees in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Political Science, and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School. She worked as an attorney with Bowles Rice in Martinsburg, WV and as the Executive Director of the Morgan County Partnership in Berkeley Springs, WV. She has volunteered with many organizations in the area and served on many nonprofit boards, including Morgan County Starting Points, Morgan County Partnership, Tom and Virginia Seely Foundation, Morgan Arts Council and CASA of the Eastern Panhandle, where she served as President for four years. She and her husband Gat have three daughters: Eliza, who works for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra; Katie, who works for Experience Learning in Circleville, WV; and Evie, who is a student at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
