Community Foundation Scholarship Criteria:
Glen and Charlotte Bradfield Scholarship – Graduating senior from East Hardy High School with a minimum GPA of 3.0; full-time attendance at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning within West Virginia; based on financial need. First year of study only.
Bill and Stella Halterman Crane Vo-tech and Trades Scholarship – Graduating senior from Moorefield High School; demonstrated passion for the trades as evidenced by relevant courses completed or employment during high school; full-time attendance at an accredited trade school or technical college with plans to pursue a career in a vo-tech/trade field, including: automotive mechanic/technician, medical technician, electrical/electronics technician, HVAC technician, robotics technician, masonry, welding, or woodworking; US citizenship or legal permanent resident status. May be renewable.
East Hardy County Vo-Tech Training Scholarship – Resident of East Hardy County (as defined by the Hardy County Board of Education); East Hardy County high school graduate or General Education Development (GED) with a minimum 2.0 GPA; be accepted by a vocational, technical or trade school with the intent to graduate with a degree or certification; have proven financial need. May be renewable.
Shelton Gay Scholarship – Graduating senior from East Hardy High School with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and successful completion of 3 elective high school courses in math or science; full-time attendance at an accredited four-year institution of higher learning; intent to pursue a degree in engineering, physics, or mathematics. First year of study only.
Oscar H. Bean, Bill Clark, Clarence “Hink” Fisher and Tom Hawse II Scholarship Fund – Graduating senior of East Hardy High School or Moorefield High School; full-time attendance at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning; based on financial need. May be renewable.
Stanley and Naomi Moyer Scholarship (NEW) – Graduating senior from East Hardy High School; financial need; full-time attendance at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning with the intention of obtaining a certificate or degree. First year of study only.
Phillip P. and Elda G. Painter Scholarship – Graduating senior from East Hardy High School or Moorefield High School; full-time attendance at an accredited four-year institution of higher learning; based on academic promise and financial need. First year of study only.
Jerry Shingleton Scholarship – Graduating senior from a high school in Hampshire or Hardy County; Cumulative GPA of at least 2.0; planning to continue education or training in an automotive-related field; based on financial need. May be renewable.
Wardensville Area Scholarship – Graduating senior from East Hardy High School planning to attend an accredited four-year institution with the intention of pursuing a degree; based on academic achievement, leadership, services to school and community, and extra-curricular activities. First year of study only.
Vernon and Myrtle Webster Scholarship (NEW) – Graduating senior from Moorefield High School with a cumulative GPA of 3.5; planning to attend an accredited college or university with the intent to pursue a degree of no less than 2 years; based on financial need and school/community involvement.
Kaylee Grace Whetzel Scholarship – Graduating senior from East Hardy High School or Moorefield High School with a minimum GPA of 3.0; full-time attendance at an accredited two- or four-year institution of higher learning within West Virginia; intent to pursue a degree in a health profession; based on financial need. First year of study only.
Bob and Betty Wilson Family Scholarship – Graduating senior from East Hardy High School or Moorefield High School with a minimum GPA of 3.0; full-time attendance at an accredited two- or four-year institution; intent to pursue a degree in a STEM field; based on financial need. May be renewable.
Scholarships with separate applications:
Lost River Pride Scholarship (NEW) – Graduating seniors or prior year graduates from any high school in Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, or Pendleton Counties. Eligible applicants must: 1) have a minimum GPA of 3.0 at the time of completing this application, 2) demonstrate a financial need, 3) plan to attend an accredited college, university, community/technical/trade school (with a preference to schools within West Virginia) and complete a program of not less than two years, and 4) demonstrate support of and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community by having actively engaged in activities that promote equality and oppose discrimination.
