The Hardy County Community Foundation, established in 2008 as an affiliate of the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation, is a charitable organization committed to providing people who care about the future of our area with unique and effective ways of supporting their community now, and for generations to come. Community foundations number more than 900 across America with 27 in West Virginia and focus entirely on working with local individuals to build local assets to meet local needs.
In January 2026, both the Hampshire and Hardy community foundations, having operated as affiliates of EWVCF, came together with Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan counties as the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation, uniting efforts across five counties with two office locations.
This milestone is more than a structural change—it’s a celebration of the trust, collaboration, and collective impact our communities have built over time. By coming together as one organization, we are strengthening our foundation, expanding our reach, and creating new opportunities to serve our region with even greater purpose and effectiveness.
