The Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation is delighted to work with Professional Advisors to help donors create the lasting legacy they desire.  If you are an accountant, attorney, or financial planner, with a donor who is considering making a charitable gift, we encourage you to speak with them about the Community Foundation then contact us with questions, or to schedule a meeting. We are here to discuss how we can help your clients establish a fund to benefit their favorite nonprofit organizations or charitable causes this year, and forever.

David DeJarnett, of Bowles Rice, has been providing legal services and excellent counsel to the Community Foundation since its inception in 1995.
David DeJarnett, LL.M of Bowles Rice, has been a champion of the Community Foundation since its inception in 1995.
Keith Unger and James "Rusty" Hudnall of City National Bank are just two of many technical advisors who provide professional services to the Community Foundation.
Keith Unger and James “Rusty” Hudnall of City National Bank are just two of many professional advisors who have worked with clients to establish a legacy at the Community Foundation.

Legacy Society members are creating charitable endowments tomorrow by making planned gifts today. Recording one’s charitable intentions also serves as a guidepost for family and friends, thereby establishing a simple way for loved ones to support nonprofit organizations and charitable causes which are near and dear to you.

There are various ways to make a planned gift, and we hope you will involve the Foundation in your gift before you make it. A planned gift is an extraordinary way to leave a lasting legacy to honor you, your family and your community. Often, the Community Foundation will not receive your planned gift for years to come, but we are here to help you plan for the future.

We encourage you to include your attorney, estate planner, and financial advisor in the discussion as you develop your gift plans. It’s the best way to make certain your charitable vision is crystal clear, ensure the tax deductibility of your gift, and build your legacy. For more information and sample wording to help craft a legacy gift within your estate plan, download our Bequest Wording document which will provide ideas that can help your attorney, CPA, or financial advisor.

To discuss creating your personal legacy, please contact the Community Foundation.

Below, we recognize the list of Legacy Society donors who have named the Community Foundation in their will or another form of planned gift. Please consider adding your name to this group by becoming a member of our Legacy Society today.
