Widmyer Elementary teacher Rebecca Lindsey received a $487.08 Mini-Grant in 2016. With it she purchased six android tablets, keyboards, and headphones. These tools helped her kindergarten students practice more and improve their reading levels across the board.
October 16 is the deadline for Pre-K through Grade 12 Eastern Panhandle public school teachers to submit Mini-Grant proposals to the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation. The Mini-Grant to Teachers program, which is now in its fifth year, awards small grants of up to $500 to support classroom programs and projects that might not qualify for other types of funding. Nearly $35,000 in mini-grants will be distributed to teachers from Jefferson, Berkeley, and Morgan counties. To apply for a mini grant, simply CLICK HERE to download instructions and the application.
