The following scholarship has its own application:
Deborah, Leslie, and Christopher Bright Scholarships (Application deadline April 3) – Morgan or Hampshire County high school students (public or homeschooled) in grades 9-12 who are interested in pursuing in-depth experiences in STEAM-based subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math). Previously Bright Scholarship recipients have attended an Astronomy Camp at Alfred University, music camps, the Fallingwater Architecture Camp, summer intensives at HARID Conservatory and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, and pre-college courses at Brown University.2023 Bright Application
Scholarship Funds and Criteria:
David A. “Hawk” Hawkens Scholarship – Graduating senior from Hampshire County High School or home-school program as a resident of Hampshire County; planning to attend a two- or four-year college/university; primary emphasis on financial need with additional consideration of academic preparation, leadership, and service to the community. First year of study only.
Jerry Shingleton Scholarship Fund – Graduating senior from a high school in Hampshire or Hardy County; Cumulative GPA of at least 2.0; planning to continue education or training in an automotive-related field; based on financial need. May be renewable.
Joy Tutwiler Snyder Memorial Fund – Graduating senior from Hampshire High School planning to pursue a four-year degree in elementary education at a West Virginia college or university and graduating senior who plans to pursue a certificate in a technical field at technical school in West Virginia. Based on financial need. First year of study only.
R.L. Johnson, Jr. Scholarship Fund – Graduating senior from a Hampshire High School with a minimum 3.0 GPA; must have played basketball during all four years of his/her high school career and shown outstanding dedication to the team regardless of skill level; scholarship may be used for attendance at an accredited college/university or technical/trade school. Not contingent on financial need. First year of study only.
Rae Ellen Scanlon McKee Scholarship Fund – Graduating senior from Hampshire High School with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Must be planning to attend a two- or four-year college or university in West Virginia to study elementary education, language arts or reading. First year of study only.
Wilda Michael Memorial Scholarship Fund –Graduating senior from Hampshire High School; planning to attend a two- or four-year college/university. Based on financial need, academic preparation, leadership, and service to the community. First year of study only.
