Estate Planning Pitfalls and Opportunities: It’s Better to Give AND to Receive Seminar

We are pleased to announce that David DeJarnett’s dad is much improved and David has worked with us to reschedule his professional advisors seminar on estate planning. The new date is Friday, June 17th. Entitled “Estate Planning Pitfalls and Opportunities: It’s better to Give AND to Receive”, this three hour seminar can be most helpful to anyone working on an estate plan, and is geared toward attorneys, accountants, trust officers, development directors, insurance agents, and financial planners. The seminar, which begins at 9 AM and runs until noon, will be held at Shepherd University – Martinsburg Center in Room 116.

During the course David will explain the various types of estate plans and will discuss how donating to charitable organizations may prove beneficial. Additionally, he will review a wide variety of charitable gather techniques; including the IRA Charitable Rollover, Qualified Retirement Plans, Charitable Lead and Remainder Trusts, and Gift Annuities. David will also discuss the tax considerations in estate planning, including transfer and income taxes. Finally, he will review recent estate planning developments, share a case study, and answer questions from the audience.

Continuing education credits (MCLE, CPE and CEs) will be awarded to attorneys, accountants, and insurance professionals. So save the date and mark your calendar. If you previously registered, we will look forward to seeing you on June 17th. If you had registered for the earlier date and cannot make it on June 17th, let us know and we’ll be glad to refund your $25 fee.

Special thanks to our Partners in Philanthropy – BB&T Wealth, Bowles Rice, CNB Bank, Jefferson Distributing, First United Bank & Trust, United Bank, City National Bank, ROCS Local Market/Roach Energy, BCT Bank of Charles Town, and Gat Creek Furniture – for supporting our Community Workshops & Nonprofit Training Programs.
