I recently received an Arts in Education Grant final report from Mrs. Conant, the band teacher at Shepherdstown Middle School. list of hindi websites . In 2011, the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation provided a $2,580 grant to bring in visiting jazz clinicians to work with the student musicians, commission an original composition Whatever! for the Jazz Band, and help develop a program on the History of Jazz that was performed several times during Black History Month. These incredibly talented young musicians worked hard all year and performed in competitions throughout West Virginia, ultimately being named the state’s Best Middle School Jazz Band in 2012.

Mrs. Conant reported that the kids loved having the guest artists working with them and that the grant opened several doors including the ones at Asbury United Methodist Church where they performed one of their many concerts.
